Hammer collects information depending on how you engage with our products and services (for example, whether you are a prospective purchaser of a vehicle, or an operator of an auto dealership).
What information we collect
- If you use Hammer to assist with the operation of an auto dealership, we may collect a variety of information, including your name, phone number, and IP address.
- If you are an individual submitting a credit application to an auto dealership that is using Hammer’s financing form, we collect your name, phone number, e-mail address, birthdate, SSN, driver’s license number, home address, employment information, and income.
- If you are an individual communicating with an auto dealership that is using Hammer to manage its communications via SMS and/or other channels, we may collect your phone number and other personal information that you choose to provide.
How we use your information
- If you use Hammer to assist with the operation of an auto dealership, we use your information for software features including authentication and notifications, and important notices about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
- If you are an individual communicating with an auto dealership that is using Hammer to manage its communications via SMS and/or other channels, we forward your communication to the auto dealership.
Disclosure to Third Parties
At times Hammer may make certain information available to partners that work with Hammer to provide products and services. For example, when you verify your phone number for use with Hammer’s software products, Hammer shares your phone number with a telephony provider to deliver text messages to you.
It may also be necessary − by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence − for Hammer to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.
We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users. Additionally, in the event of a reorganization, merger, or sale we may transfer any and all personal information we collect to the relevant third party.
Reviewing and Requesting Changes to Your Information
You may inquire about what personally identifiable information we have on file about you by sending an e-mail to email@example.com. You may likewise request via e-mail that we delete or correct any such information we have on file.
Do Not Track
Hammer does not track its customers over time or across third party websites to provide targeted advertising and therefore does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.
Third parties that provide embedded services on Hammer’s websites (such as a vehicle history report) may set cookies on a user’s browser and/or obtain information about the fact that a web browser visited a specific Hammer website from a certain IP address. Third parties cannot collect any other personally identifiable information from Hammer’s websites unless you provide it to them directly.
Your California Privacy Rights
California law permits residents of California to request certain details about how their information is shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes. Hammer does not share personally identifiable information with third parties for their marketing purposes unless you provide us with consent to do so.
